This
is an educational park intended for all ages. Its principal topics are
the
history, culture and traditions of Madeira. You
will find a simulator which
deals with the discoveries of the island, a
levada walk,
a
model of the train of Monte,to
take you from one attraction
to another.
There is
also
a
tractor
cart
drawn by cows
and a
lake
on which you will be able to sail with counterparts of small fishing boats. Also
available are activities likea
slide, bungee-jumping, climbing etc...

Aquapark:
This
is one of the island's
latest attractions.
Located
in
Santa Cruz
there
is
space for
more than a
1000 people.
There are
five toboggans, two swimming pools,
a small river, a bar and cloakrooms.
Surfing:
Madeira has rather good
spots.
Mentioned in several sporting reviews for the excellence of the
waves. Those
who love
this sportwill know that due to its
situation, Madeira is ideally
placed for the "swells" of the North Atlantic.
Surfer will be able to perform
"point breaks"and
"reef
breaks". The
low season (June-September) is the best time
to come
for surfing.

Tennis
and Squash:
All
the hotels have their tennis
courts.
Only
certain
hotels provide
squash facilities: Quinta Magnólia, Hôtel Baía Azul, Hôtel Alto Lido, Hôtel Tivoli Ocean Park,
Hôtel Eden Mar, Hôtel Panorâmico, Club Naval do Funchal, Madeira Regency Palace,
Madeira Regency Club, Galomar e Onda Vital.
Golf:
There
are
3 golf
courses on the archipelago: 1 in Porto
Santo and 2 others in Madeira. "Palheiro Golf" is an
18
hole
course
developed
by Cabell Robinson. The "Santo da
Serra"
golf club (one of the
best in
Europe) has 27 holes
designed
by Robert Trent Jones. This
course
hosts theMadeira
Open
each year. The Porto
Santo court
has 9 holes and a 9
hole pitch and put.
It
consists
of a Club House, Putting Green and Driving Rang. It was
conceived
by Severiano Ballestero, the former Spanish world
champion ”.
Diving:
There are some diving
clubs
but they
are
expensive.
Sport
fishing:
Madeira is famous for
this as
is proven by
several world records. You can
fish for
tuna,
scabbard, merou,
barracudas
etc. Boats
are to be foundat
the marina of funchal.Don't
forget your rod!
Helicopter and
balloon:
It
is nice
to
see Madeira
from above. For the helicopter trip make your way
to the small typical Santana
house in the port of Funchal. Make your selection from the
various flights
available.
Be aware however that a minimum of 4 people is necessary for a flight.
You can't miss
the balloon, at
the marina of Funchal.
A flight in the balloon provide a breathtaking view of
Funchal
bay.
Boat trips:
There are several agencies in
the port of Funchal which offer you
some small excursions.
